A NYC Mental Health Resource Plug (from Your Fave Naturealizta)

Updated: 3 days ago

Hey you. This worldwide pandemic is a lot. Nobody is showing us HOW to do this... How to cope... I get you!!!! You may have been going through a lot of your own craze before it came. It may have made you notice things you are uncomfortable with in your life. You may be struggling right now... and Im just here to say, “You are NOT alone”. No matter what you are going through and experiencing at this time, You are seen. If you are reading this, please give yourself a pat on the back and tell yourself “Good job _______". You’re doing the best you can! You are thee bomb! Give yourself some credit and check out these Mental Health resources below that I have gathered for us fam!

Let’s take action to begin OUR own collective healing. I know therapy can be something scary to explore, especially in our communities. People do not feel safe opening up about issues affecting them to "strangers". However, we do this when we meet doctors/ nurses/ specialists for everything medical. We do this to invest in our health. Why not do the same to invest in your mental stability? That excuse is not working over here boo!

Therapists/ Psychotherapists/ Social Workers/ Counselors are actually licensed and professionally trained to help others improve the quality of their life, understand and better grasp a healthy way of thinking, behaving, and expressing emotions. This does not mean they are better than you or know you better than yourself. Therapists help those struggling with difficult feelings, mental health issues, trauma, boundaries, life and work stressors, diagnoses, etc. to better cope and manage themself. They help hold you accountable and to be more intentional and practice healthy habits. It gives you a time to focus on you, and to just come to someone who sees you without any extra bias or judgement because you actually don't know them! They are going to keep it real with you, and help you with YOUR thoughts. No advice because this is your life - just guidance, encouragement, reassurance, and winning!!!

2020 is the year, now more than ever that we are fighting a tough fight. This is the year that we need to be real with our selves, and also take steps to evolve and grow as a community. Why not get your mental health balanced ? We can do this honey! Take Baby steps!!! Start off with looking for some counseling, coping skills and then these resources I share below! Keep scrolling.

This can be an active blog post (updated as I receive more resources).
